The Fort Pierce Public Works Department has erected outdoor fitness equipment fitness equipment on the shores of the Indian River Lagoon along Indian River Drive near Seaway Drive.
There is no cost to use the equipment, which includes a sit-up bench; chest press/ lat pull, double pull-up bars, a twist-and-step machine, a pushup/dip station, a rowing machine, a cross skier, a four-person combo station, and a fitness bike.
The outdoor equipment was purchased through Exofit Outdoor Fitness of miami, at a cost of around $24,000, including the concrete pad. The funding for this project is from the Fort Pierce Parks Department’s Municipal Service Taxing Unit dollars.
The 35-foot-by-35-foot station is positioned between the River Walk and South Causeway Bridge.
